♡ Red & Floral on Murano Island ♡

Finally able to blog again! I've been in China for the past few weeks and unfortunately Blogger (along with other social networks) is blocked there, so now I'm a little (a lot) behind on this documenting my trip / outfits thing.

ANYWAY, let's see what I remember....

☆ TOBI crop top (size S -- 50% OFF FIRST PURCHASE),  H&M floral skirt (size S), H&M sold out boots (similar here), Gold Soul snake ringcelet, Taiwan night-market necklace

One of the things that you must do (if you want lol) if you're in Venice is to take a ferry to one of the three famous surrounding local islands, Murano, known for making some of Italy's finest glass.

These are gondolas, I know.  But they looked cool so I'm putting this here.

FOR SEASICK-PRONE PEOPLE: I normally get seasick but it wasn't that bad! Probably because I stayed outside on the deck where there was a lot of fresh air

The ferry only takes about 10-15 minutes to get there, and the view on the way is amazing!

Isn't the color of the water pretty?!

ANYWAY,

When we got there, we got to see a cool demonstration on how each Murano glass piece is made

He's not making pizza, I swear
For those of you who don't know, the glass has to be heated up to an extremely high temperature so it can be soft enough to be hand-crafted by the glass Masters, who have been practicing this art in Italy for many, many years.

The heated piece of glass is first cooled off a bit before the Master begins -- using only a pair of pliers -- to quickly (before the glass hardens) form the piece into his or her desired shape/design.

And then, VOILA
HE ONLY DID THIS IN 3 MINUTES
Although the glass is already "cooled" and completely hardened in a matter of seconds, it is still EXTREMELY hot and, to prove this to us, the Master placed a piece of paper on this little glass horse and the paper IMMEDIATELY BURST INTO FLAMES.

(sorry I couldn't get a picture though)

It was seriously such a fun and interesting thing to have watched, and of course at the end of the demonstration, we had the opportunity to browse through the other glass works available in the many stores along the water.

And this is where I show you what I wore that day:

And that's it for now. Thanks for reading! (:

♡ Full Moon in Italy (Mid-Autumn Festival) ♡

Started off this day with super yummy breakfast (not pictured) and tiramisu + italian coffee by the canal ~

Gondola traffic jam!  The water level in the canal was really high because of the full moon, so the gondoliers had to slowly/carefully maneuver the boats to fit under the bridges, which they did so effortlessly!  It was INCREDIBLE-- I mean look at that tiny gap under the bridge!! o___o

☆ Miu Miu sunnies, H&M cardigan, Gold Soul crop top (size small), AnnaRoc high-waisted shorts (size small), Moderntrend body chain, AnnaRoc bracelet, OIA JULES bracelet, Taiwan-brand gladiator wedges
Anyway, the weather was so nice and sunny, it felt almost like summer again ^__^ so I decided to go light and casual

Closer look at some of my favorite accessories (with a pretty sunset to match)

And what's Mid-Autumn Festival without a nice full moon?

I love how body chains can be worn both over a regular outfit (like in my previous post), or underneath a crop top to compliment a plain / simple look (: Moderntrend has some great ones-- check them out!

A cute pair of high-waisted shorts can make your legs look even longer

Since the weather was so nice and everything was so pretty, we decided to browse through St. Mark's Square again (:
St. Mark's Square at night
Definitely a must-go place! There are people who perform live classical music (orchestra style) in various tents around the courtyard and they're AMAZING.
Loved how the music drifted through the courtyard!

Ok so we actually thought the holiday was on the 17th (oops) so we had already eaten all our mooncakes .-. yes, we brought a box to Italy.........

OIA JULES Athena bracelet
.....and Punahou class ring lol (YAY c/o 2010!)
But that's okay cus we got to have some freshly made GELATO instead! Yum!

That's it for now - Stay tuned (:

♡ Chilly Day in St. Mark's Square ♡

☆ Vogue Rage RAGE TANK (size small), Moderntrend body chainOIA JULES bracelet, ZARA jeans, Italian Murano glass bracelet, Oversized aztec cardigan (I got mine in a sample store in Shanghai, but similar can be found here), H&M backpack

It was a nice chilly day in Venice the other day, so I thought it was the perfect time to try on my new cardigan I bought in Shanghai before I left.  I was actually looking at this on the web (except in ivory) for awhile, and then one day when I was shopping in a little sample store (Shanghai has a whole bunch of little shops that sell samples they get directly from factories, so the stuff is really cheap) I found the EXACT SAME cardigan-- but in black-- for only $15! It's really warm and not too heavy, and the material is comfortable (not super scratchy and itchy like I had imagined).  I also love the aztec print! Great for fall (:

I first found out about Oia Jules while browsing around on Instagram, and immediately fell in love with the unique and beautiful pieces designed by Elizabeth Schricker.  I was really bummed at first because I discovered her jewelry three days before my boyfriend would leave for Shanghai (I mailed a bunch of stuff to his house in Hawaii to bring to me lol) and I really wanted to wear her bracelets on my trip, so I emailed Elizabeth and she was SO SWEET she rushed them to me (er, my boyfriend) just in time! Her designs are amazing, definitely go check out Oia Jules (:

Vogue Rage is actually my good friends' clothing line featuring women's street-wear and fashion on the west coast (US).  They just launched not too long ago but I love their designs so far & I'm excited to see what they have in store next.  Take the time to check them out, and follow them on Instagram for discounts and special offers (: Go Caela & Yasmin!

That's it for now! Until next time (:
